You guys remember that, during our field work, we
obtained pH measurements using samples collected in fresh water and salt water?
So today, in this post, we'll talk a little bit about
them! For those who do not know, the acronym pH means hydrogen hydrogen
potential and indicates the content of free hydronium ions per unit volume of
the solution. The more hydronium in the medium, the more acidic the solution;
That is, more basic will be.
Anyway, continuing ... In the laboratory of our
school, we observed these water samples collected during the Study. Now you're
ready to see the results of those reviews! Are you prepared?
- Sample 01: Freshwater source - Cota 200
In this sample, no type of microorganisms were found; which
was already expected, because being a source, apparently uncontaminated, it is
normal not to present protozoa and few algae.
- Sample 02: Saltwater - Santos
In this sample, no type of organism was found either.
The absence of larger organisms, such as protozoa, is normal in seawater. If
there is contamination, it is a consequence of bacteria. And, unfortunately, we
can’t see these types of bacteria in the microscope we use.
